Cello and Double Bass Repair Price List
This is my price list for common cello and upright repairs.
These prices are for service only and do not include the price of replacement parts (bridge, strings, pegs, and others)
Prices are marked with ** where additional material costs apply.
String change: $15**
Soundpost adjustment: $30
Full set-up: $80
(set-up includes as necessary adjustment of nut, saddle, bridge, tailgut, and soundpost)
Soundpost replacement: $100
Bridge replacement: Cello $200** | Bass $250**
Fingerboard planing / dressing: Cello $200 | Bass $300
Peg replacement / fitting: $25 per peg**
Crack repair: Starting at $50
Nut or saddle replacement: $75 each
Bow hair replacement (rehair): $140
Thumb leather replacement: $50
Lapping / winding replacement: $80
(I use sterling silver wire for bow lapping. Whalebone, tinsel, or gold wire is available upon request.)
Bow tip replacement: $80**
Bow crack repair: Starting at $100
Pricing for repairs not listed above is assessed on a case-by-case basis. All quotes and assessments are always free!
