Violin and Viola Repair Price List
This is my price list for common violin and viola repairs.
These prices are for service only and do not include the price of replacement parts (bridge, strings, pegs, and others)
Prices are marked with ** where additional material costs apply.
String replacement: $10**
Soundpost adjustment: $25
Full set-up: $60
(set-up includes as necessary adjustment of nut, saddle, bridge, tailgut, and soundpost)
Soundpost replacement: $50
Bridge replacement: $85**
Fingerboard planing / dressing: $80
Peg replacement / fitting: $10 per peg**
Crack repair: Starting at $50
Nut or saddle: Adjustment to existing is $40, replacement is $60
Bow hair replacement (rehair): $75
Thumb leather replacement: $40
Lapping / winding replacement: $60
(I use sterling silver wire for bow lapping. Whalebone, tinsel, or gold wire is available upon request.)
Bow tip replacement: $25**
Bow crack repair: Starting at $50
Pricing for repairs not listed above is assessed on a case-by-case basis. All quotes and assessments are always free!
